My love for self-organization

As I have begun to observe my reading habits this year, a pattern has already emerged. The hours I spend on Goodreads must definitely be more than those spent on Facebook but perhaps not Insta, although that is another story altogether. So I dug deeper to understand what it is that makes me tick. The two major themes that I follow while picking up a book to read is that I should be interested in earning more about the topic - it could be something I have minimal knowledge of or something that I am deeply interested in. Any information that I gather is stored away in neat compartments in my head. Secondly, it is relate-able - either I am able to imagine myself in that situation (or want to be in a similar situation in my fantasies) or I have come close to experiencing something and want to know how others have dealt with it. I have always known my fondness for stationery, I bought so much of it back from Europe that I am surprised at myself. But guess what? Today, as I was reading an article in the newspaper, a term caught my eye - Bullet Journal

I decided to explore this concept further and was fascinated to see that this was a trend that started in 2016 and there are blogs, vlogs and even books on this interesting practice. As I read more about it, I decided to give it a shot. There are simply way too many diaries that are lying around in my room even today and wouldn't it be great if I could put them to good use? Enthused by the idea of starting this new project, I decided to organize my system a bit further and it comes down to this. The short diary style has worked well for me so far, although I seem to write only once in two days. I'm hoping that this trend will improve over the year. The only thing that worries me now is that I don't really have a long form journal. Maybe I should pick up hand written journal-ling again, I really would love to have a record of all my thoughts over time to understand how I have evolved as a person. Now all I need to decide is whether I would like an online copy or an offline one. Both work actually.
Let's see how this year of journal logging pans out, hoping it works well!
